On Sunday morning, August 8, the Danville board walk was quite deserted of wild life creatures and people
Just a tiny turtle was basking in the sun, a Song Sparrow singing near-by and a few Red-winged Blackbirds whistling.
The water lilies, however, are in full bloom and very beautiful.
Aren’t they gorgeous?
There were a few wood-ducks in the pond across the road, a great blue heron flew by.
lots of purple martins on the dry branches.
with some feeding going on
As I was standing quietly by the pond, I heard water splashes ....
and right in front of me a little head popped out of the green waters. Notice the water line way up his neck, almost to the chin
He looked with curiosity at the big glass eye for a second or two and, after the burst of camera clicks, dived down, never to be seen again.
It pays, sometimes, to blend in with nature and observe.
